This trip was Sunday afternoon, and involved wading through thick ochre. But it was well worth it. Photos here by "Mole"


The mine was entered in lower chest deep ochre, but once through the entrance section it dropped to a more sociable level. Soon the adit entered a stoped out section as shown below. My camera had been playing up and I felt iffy about getting it into this place not having the usual waterproof ammo box. Fortunately "Mole" AKA John Hine has come to my rescue with some rather good pictures.

The adit meanders for some distance to connect with shafts where material has come down and blocked further progress. However, before this point is reached there are some impressive formations.
