A 2009 version is now being developed so as to encompass the latest regulations to come into force. Basically, its "The Consumer Credit Act 2006 Post Contract Information Requirements" and "The Consumer Credit (Information Requirements and Duration of Licences and Charges) Regulations 2007"

Basically, this will need to record further information relative to movements in the account, generate automatically reminders when periodic statements fall due, and generate the statutory notices as part of the available on line documentation

New Network Security and Admin

Previous deployments where an "Admin" version and a "Workstation" version. The admin included a "Network Control Panel" where permissions could be set for the various users. This is now much improved and basically apes Windows classic logon, but with a user selection from a list. User accounts are now set up in a "Network Admin Module". Installations can be done on any workstation without any fiddling around. The user has a log on dialog with drop down list of the different users, the selection will be the future default but obviously with ability to change (looks like Windows classic). Password entry will log on the user to their account with their specific permissions, on any machine. The password is encrypted and stored in the data file in encrypted form. There is no way the password can be cracked by any means. Example, a poor password such as "sissy" with three instances of the same character in a 5 letter word encrypts as "QQOLD" or "LLTRN". The same password re-set will encrypt differently each time. I aught to offer a reward to anyone who can crack it!

New Accounting Functionality

A lot of accountants distribute spreadsheet programs to their clients to fill in with banking transactions in and out, which it analyses under various column headings.

Basically like a purchase and sales day book.

I have put the functionality in my software to produce these automatically either as an Excel spreadsheet or a document.

I have also developed a procedure for handling scheduled transactions. Transactions can be either monthly or weekly scheduled transactions just like in the popular accounting and money management programs.

The procedure handles two types of scheduled transaction.

#1 Transfers of money between different bank accounts.

#2 External payments to third parties, such as rent or rates etc.

Ordinary transfers will post in batches. Will work just as well for cash in hand trading.

 

New: ISO 9000-2000 File Management System

This is still at development stage, but should be ready shortly. Unlike other offerings on the market it will cost you a few hundred rather than a few thousand, and as to be expected of us will use Microsoft Office interoperability.

In brief, your documents will be in Word or Excel format, created as a batch, or singly, from your own templates, but with password protection automatically added by the software. Password to open, as in Read Only, and password to Edit, as in Make Changes. As the passwords will be contained within the program, the documents will only be opened from the program, and this will be done according to network permissions. It will be a non client server application designed to run on a stand alone PC or a local network system.

Users can log into any machine with their own password and get their permissions. Administrator: View, Edit, Delete, and Add New.

Power User: View and Edit

User: View, as in read only.

There is a full audit trail of everyone who opens changes or creates or deletes, the number of revisions will also be faithfully recorded.

I hope to have a set of template ISO documents ready as well.

Although primarily designed for ISO 900 - 2000 the software is available for other purposes where document security and full audit trails are required.

Obviously, users will have to have Microsoft Word and Excel installed.

I have versions so far for Office 2000, Office XP(2002) and Office 2003. Hope to soon have a version for Office 2007 as well. I doubt anyone out there still using Office 97.
